Flash-floods hit Kullan village in central Kashmir's Ganderbal, block Srinagar-Leh Highway

Acloudburst triggered by the heavy rains caused flash-floods in kullan area of Gund tehsil in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.

Reports said that the flash-floods occurred in a nallah at Shah Mohallah Kullan on Sunday afternoon. 

Several houses were inundated, causing them partial damage.
The Srinagar-Leh highway was also blocked by the flash floods.

An official told Greater Kashmir that the inmates of a few houses where water had entered have been evacuated and the machinery has been pressed into service to clear the Srinagar-Leh highway. 

Meanwhile, the residents told Greater Kashmir that they have approached the local administration and beacon officials for construction of a protection wall, but to no avail.
