Militant killed in Tral gunfight was given chance to surrender but refused: Police

Tral: An Al-Badr militant was killed in a Gunfight with government forces in Machoma Tral area of South Kashmir on Thrusday morning.

A senior Police officer told that in initial exchange of firing one militant of Al-Badr identified as Irfan Ahmad Dar resident of Gadikal was killed. He had joined the outfit on 20th August this year.
 
The police officer while talking to a local news gathering agency Global News Service further said that a civilian was brought to the encounter site to persuade the hiding militant, however he refused to surrender.
Earlier, according to the reports, a joint team of Police and Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Machoma Tral.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(GNS)
