Apart from NEET-PG, the notice also has exam dates for FMGE Dec 2020 session, NEET MDS Exam, and DNB PDCET 2021 admission session. The entrance examinations would be conducted as a Computer Based Test, CBT, as per the official notice.
NEET PG is an exam is conducted every year for 10,821 Master of Surgery (MS), 19,953 Doctor of Medicine (MD), and 1,979 PG Diploma seats at 6,102 institutions. There are a total of forty-eight thousand, 48000 seats for NEET PG admissions across the colleges in the entire country.
NEET MDS is conducted every year for admission to 6,501 seats -- 50% All India Quota (AIQ) and 50% state quota -- in participating institutions. FMGE is conducted twice every year, in June and December, for provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council to practice in the country.
This year the government had reduced the minimum percentile for PG admissions up to 50 percent. MCI took the decision to lessen the minimum percentile after 3000 seats were left vacant after 2 rounds of counseling. The general category minimum percentile was reduced to 30 percent rather than 50. For Scheduled Castes, SC, Schedule Tribes, ST, and Other Backward Classes, OBC students the percentile was cut down to 20 from 40 percentile.
