Rouqai Rashid, a student of Class 4th from Awantipora alleged that Armed Forces stopped her at Kadlabal in Pulwama as she was on her way to appear for her exam.
“I left home at 10 am to appear in the exams. But on the way, we were stopped by the armed forces at Kadlabal in Pulwama,” Roquai Rashid from Awantipora told The Kashmiriyat.
Rouqai, along with her cousin was on her way to appear for her exam in Govt Degree College (Girls) in Pulwama.
According to her, the Armed Forces stopped her and her cousin, and they were forced to stand for about half an hour unnecessarily.
“We told them we have an exam but they were very aggressive. They verbally abused my cousin and asked us to stand,” she said.
Due to the delay, Roquai missed her Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Board exams. Speaking to The Dark Press she said, “I was 10 minutes late because of the hinderance that Armed Forced caused. The invigilator stopped me from entering the exam room”.
Rouqai has since has appealed to the authorities to consider her case and ensure that other students don’t miss their exams because they are stopped on the way and made to stand’.
IG of Jammu Kashmir Police Vijay Kumar recently said that the Police have enhanced frisking, checking to stop the movement of militants in the city in view of recent militant attacks.
The Inspector-General of Police, CRPF, Srinagar Sector, Charu Sinha said that be it frisking or any measure, it is all a precautionary measure.
