Banihal, Apr 27 (KNO): An Army man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Banihal area of Ramban district on Tuesday.
A police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an Army man identified as Asangeppa Madar aged around 28, son of Parasappa of Layadagundi Bagalkot of Karnataka shot himself with his service rifle at R-Center Camp Banihal.
Following the gunshot, the colleagues rushed towards him and found him in a pool of blood, the official said, adding that he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
He said a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been started—(KNO).
