A total of 2,373 acres and 16 kanals of government lands and 498 acres and 14 kanals of private lands have been relinquished in Rawalpindi division from the occupation mafia. The relinquished government land is worth Rs 14.2 billion while the private land is worth Rs 4 billion. Operation against Occupy Mafia continues and all districts of Rawalpindi report on their performance every week. This was stated by Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Muhammad Mahmood while presiding over a meeting at the Commissioner's Office in which Deputy Commissioners and Revenue Officers of Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal participated. 

The Commissioner said that 1053 acres, four kanals and 18 marlas of government lands worth Rs. 1398.05 million were handed over in Attock district while 126 acres, four kanals and 13 marlas of private lands worth Rs. 309.15 million were handed over in the district 634 acres, two kanals and 16 marlas of government land worth Rs. 7288.06 million in Chakwal district while 357 acres and four kanals of private land including 350 acres including a total value of Rs. 3,274 million, 13 acres, eight kanals and eight marlas of private land worth Rs. 124.4 million, 303 acres and 10 marlas of government land worth Rs. 2,239 million in Jhelum district while private lands worth one acre, three kanals and 17 marlas worth Rs. Has been relinquished The Commissioner said that all the Deputy Commissioners of the Division have been directed to regularly monitor the security of vacant government lands and formulate a strategy to use these lands for public interest projects.
