Mohammad Ramzan, prominent RTI activist, EPG trustee passes away

Srinagar: Mohammad Ramzan Khan, a prominent RTI activist from Kashmir and founder trustee of the Environmental Policy Group (EPG) passed away this morning around Sehri time.

Mr Khan died at SKIMS Hospital Soura, where he was admitted for a heart-related complication, his son Irfan Khan said.


“It is with our deepest sorrow that our colleague, Environmental Policy Group (EPG) founder/Trustee/ Governing Council Member, a passionate RTI activist and a linguist Mr.Mohammad Ramzan Khan passed away a short while ago at SKIMS due to heart ailment. He was an epitome of humility and an exceptional human being. He has left a void which is difficult to be filled. EPG has lost a tireless activist , a sane voice and RTI Movement a warrior. May Allah grant him magfirah and bless his soul with place in Jannatul Firdous!”, EPG convenor Faiz Bakshi said in his condolence message.

Mian Javed Hussain, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat, Peerzada Faiyaz Ahmed, Altaf Andrabi (former Director Agriculture Department Kashmir), Farooq Kuthoo, Altaf Rasool, Javed Qureshi, Advocate Zahid Iqbal and others have expressed their condolences with the bereaved family.
