10 June 2021 A food and mask distribution drive was conducted in the remote village of Gulab in Gurez by the Being Heart Foundation and the India Army.
Mr Akash kumar CEO of the foundation personally flew in from Delhi and visited the village to hand over 1000 masks and 150 food packets which included daily use items such as spices, salt, sugar, pulses, oil and other grocery items worth Rs 80,000.
The main Aim behind this event was to provide relief for the economically backward people of far flung areas of Gurez which lack basic amenities like electricity, water, network connectivity and roads. This initiative by the young entrepreneur comes in consonence with the online campaigns started by the Army and local Administration to promote tourism in Gurez valley thereby providing multiple job opportunities to the youth and improving the
This drive would become an example and would motivate other NGOs and Entrepreneurs to and provide them a noble opportunity to give back to the soceity.
The Awam of the villages expressed their gratitude towards the NGO and the Army for this proactive step and assured their continual support in bringing development in the valley through tourism and tourism related avenues.
