Three Militants have been killed in an overnight encounter in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An police official told that the Joint Forces including Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Gund Brath area, during which the Militants opened fire, triggering an encounter.
During the exchange of gunfire which continued on Monday morning, three Militants including top Lashkar commander Mudasir Pandith was been killed, he said.
The identity of third slain militant is being ascertained. two civilians and two policeman were killed.
Three AK 47 rifles have been recovered from the possession of the three. “The operation has been called over,” the official told.
The official said that a Pakistani Militant was also killed during the operation.
