Village in Baramulla District Without Bridge, Locals suffer

The Residents of Hurcheck, village of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are up in the arms against the government for failing to construct a bridge on a local stream.
Resident of Hurcheck Pattan said there is a local stream called as Gundari Nalla and from the past several years the people are facing hardships due to the absence of a bridge on the Nallah.


 
Local residents alleged that previous year the lady died while she was on the way to hospital, due to absence of bridge the locals couldn’t shift her to hospital on time.

Residents told The Kashmiriyat that the then DC Baramulla G N Itoo visited the said village and assured them that the work on bridge will begin but unfortunately not concrete has been done on ground.

They said that are forced to shift patients on shoulders to health center Nihalpora or Wanigam which is few kilometres away from the village due to bad condition of road.

“We have no direct road to reach Tehsil headquarter Pattan. We have to cross this Nallah from both side and have to to go another village on foot. The drivers are reluctant to ply on the road due to its bad condition and absence of Bridge,” a local said to The Kashmiriyat

The Most of the people are living Under Below Poverty Line, villagers said

They appealed LG J&K Manoj Sinha to look into this matter and solve their problem as soon as possible so that they can feel some sort of relief.
