Bandipora, July 04: The 36th Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army stationed at Kanzalwan Village in Gurez Valley on Monday organised a mega Medical and Dental Check up camp for the villagers of Kanzalwan sub sector.
An official said that 282 villagers including 114 women and 56 children benefitted from the mega camp which was conducted at SKUAST centre in Izmarg village.
The camp was conducted with an aim to monitor the health of the villagers and provide them with quality medical assistance. The sub sector being a remote area remains deprived of basic medical facilities.
A week prior intimation was given to all the villages in the sub sector and the camp was conducted in the center so as to facilitate all with the benefits of the mega Medical camp. "This mega Medical check up camp is carried out regularly with an aim to monitor the health and provide quality medical facilities to the villagers of this remote area".
Officials said the villagers were also educated on various hygiene issues and safety measures from COVID-19 as the pandemic is not yet over and cases around the nation are increasing. "such initiatives will not only ensure a healthy community but will also ensure the bond between villagers and Army remains strong forever
