‘Various Mohalla Committees framed; urges them to raise public issues with the concerned authorities
Scores of political activists hailing from Konakhan and Nowpora area of Khanyar Constituency on Friday joined Khadim-e-Qaum Sheikh Mohammad Imran where various Mohalla Committees were also framed followed up by a turban tying ceremony to the newly appointed Mohalla Committee heads.
Khawaja Mohammad Yaseen, Parvez Ahmad Chachoo, Tariq Ahmad, Abdul Majid Chachoo, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Arooj Ahmad Bagwan, Mohammad Saleem Kak, Mohammad Shafi Dar and Mohammad Shafi Chopan were also present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Mohammad Yaseen said the people of Khanyar Constituency have been viciously neglected by the previous governments and criminally deprived of the essential infrastructural facilities.
“If the former representatives had been sincere towards the welfare of people, I have no doubt that youth from these areas wouldn’t have to yearn for dignified jobs. The condition of roads, drainage and wooden bridges is appallingly pathetic that continuously haunts the locals living in these areas who have been always emotionally blackmailed by these so-called “stalwart leaders” for their ulterior motives,” he said.
Khawaja Yaseen also deliberated over enormous irregularities & misappropriations with regards to the implementation of ICDS Scheme in Khanyar Constituency where the Anganwadi centers have been strategically allocated to the workers of a specific political party tainting the very purpose of this central sponsored scheme.
“The scheme is aimed to improve the health, nutrition and education of the children belonging to underprivileged sections of society and not to become the victim of a political monopoly. The huge misappropriation in funds, food supplies and allied employment honorariums must be audited and inspected in letter and spirit,” he said.
The newly appointed Mohalla Committees members lauded the efforts and concern of Sheikh Mohammad Imran besides avowing to fight against corruption and nepotism that has eaten the vitals of society.
“We express our gratitude to Imran Sahib for entrusting us with this responsibility and pledge to work diligently in order to redress the grievances of the general public,” the members present on this occasion said.
