Shahnawaz Choudhary conducted two days extensive tour of Hill Kaka and fulfilled the demands of public, inaugurated projects and gave assurance for further development of the area.
JKPCC General Secretary and DDC Member from Surankote A constituency visited remotest area of district Poonch, Hill Kaka for two days. He travelled a journey of 6 hours by foot. He is the first person on chair, who visited this far flung area in last 70 years.
During his visit, first time in history, a medical camp was organised and inaugurated by him in the presence of BMO Sourankote.
This area is most neglected, backward and completely forgotten part of the district Poonch in Pir Panjal belt from last 70 years. During monsoon or during winters and when other rainy spells occur, locals have to cross streams and rivers at 32 different locations to reach hospitals. It's almost impossible for them to provide treatment to humans and livestock in such a neglected region and yesterday Shahnawaz Chowdhary inaugurated the path there for which he released an amount from his own funds. He informed that he has also got approval of a structure for the working of a Sub Health Center under NHM in Hill Kaka. In the 21st century when the world is quickly moving forward, Hill Kaka is without mobile network connectivity and assured locals that offline ration will be provided to all the beneficiaries. He listened to the demands of locals patiently and assured that road connectivity via Do Changa to Hill kaka will be a reality soon and promise them that demand for a mobile network tower and a separate Panchayat for the area will be taken up with concerned authorities soon.
During his visit in the area, a cricket tournament was also organised with his support and he distributed the trophy and prizes to winner and runner up teams. He said that there is need of hour to nurturing young talent and channelising their energy in the right direction to save the youth from drugs menace. The area still has no proper power supply and Shahnawaz Chowdhary has provided solar lights to the natives of the area. he was shocked to know that since independence this area has been ignored by those who have remained in power and represented these locals in assemblies and at different platforms. His visit to the area concluded with the joining of several youth and prominent citizens in the Congress party.
