Inter Club Taekwondo Championship Ends In Srinagar

SRINAGAR- The closing ceremony of Inter Club Taekwondo Championship was held on Friday at JKSC Gindun Sports Complex, Rajbagh, Srinagar.

The Championship organised by District Srinagar Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA).

This was the first competition in District Srinagar which was completely free for every individual as it was sponsored and co-sponsored by Atul International Taekwondo Academy and Breathzone, respectively. The competition was comprised of all age divisions with inclusion of the youngest age division (Pee Wee).

The final day witnessed a massive combative skill show between the Senior and Junior Athlete’s in both male and female categories. More than 180 players participated in different weight categories.

The Championship was closed off with the demonstration of Taekwondo fights by young boys and girls of different clubs. The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Dr. Surjeet Singh Bali (Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education and Sports, UOK).

Guest of Honours were Sheikh Adil (Gymnasium Coach, DPES), Mirza Irshad (SO, DPES)

Special Guests on the occasion were Nazir Hussain (Senior Footballer), Chandrashekhar (Handball Coach), Maqsood (Joint Secretary, WAJK), Nissar Hussain (President, DSTA), and Aijaz (Wushu Coach, Kupwara).

The technical team was lead by Master Atul Pangotra (2x Commonwealth Medallist) along with Rohit Sharma Instructor Khelo India, Faisal Shafi Instructor and all the officials to make this event technically fair for every participant.
