Srinagar, Mar 28: Reacting to the statement of Waqf Chairperson Darkshan Andrabi, a prominent religious cleric Moulana Rahmatullah Mir Qasmi on Tuesday said that any Ruet-e-hilal committee should be formed only after the consultations with the grand Mufti of Jammu & Kashmir.

As per Asian News Hub (ANH), Moulana Rahmatullah said that the Waqf Board is her domain and she can take any decision with regard to strengthening the Waqf in J&K.

However, he said that she should not interfere in religious matters as it is the sole responsibility of the Ulemas.

He further added that any Ruet-e-hilal committee, if formed in the future, must have consultations with the grand Mufti as this institution has an islamic history. (ANH)
