Drug peddler held in North Kashmir's Baramulla

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Friday have arrested drug peddler in North Kashmir's Baramulla district and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

 

A Police spokesperson said that a police party led by SHO PS Sheeri under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Shri Sajjad Bukhari-JKPS intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended successfully. During search, 26 grams of Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Javid Ahmad Mir son of Gh Rasool Mir resident of Gantamulla Baramulla. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

 

"Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated", he said.
