GMC Baramulla conducts COVID mock drill to ensure preparedness amid surge in cases

In light of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the region, a mock drill was conducted at the Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla to assess the hospital's preparedness for handling COVID patients. 

 

The drill was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ruby Reshi, the Principal of GMC Baramulla, along with other senior officials.

 

The drill involved a detailed review of the hospital's total bed strength, oxygen supply, availability of drugs, roster for doctors and paramedics, hygiene and other logistics. 

 

The team inspected the hospital's oxygen plants and RTPCR lab to ensure they were functioning optimally. The staff was also re-emphasized on the need to be prepared for any eventuality.

Dr. Ruby Reshi, while speaking to the media, urged the public to follow COVID-appropriate behavior and not panic. 

 

She emphasized that the hospital was fully prepared to handle any surge in COVID cases and assured the public that necessary measures were being taken to ensure the safety of all patients.

 

The mock drill was co-supervised by Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, MS GMC Baramulla, Prof. Dr. Basharat, HOD Anesthesia, COVID Nodal Officer Dr. Yasir, and Dr. Touseef, Nodal Officer for Oxygen Management. The drill was carried out as per the guidelines issued by the higher officials to ensure that the hospital was fully equipped to handle any unforeseen circumstances.
