Sopore is a town of sufferings and issues for the people only, as in the holy month of Ramadhan, people face inconveniences during the prayers at Taravi and at Sehri due to the defunct of street lights.

The residents stated that it creates hurdles in walking at night, especially during Taravi and Sehri times in this holy month of Ramadhan.

They said we use torches in the evening when we are going to masjids, and authorities are paying no attention to look into the serious issue.

The residents said that with their fear of walking in the evening hours, we usually prefer to offer evening prayers at home due to the fear of stray dogs in their darkness, but in Ramadan, everyone visits the mosque for Tarav under darkness.

It's very sad to hear that our President of MC is busy with photo shoots and other wasteful things, but when it comes to matter of safety for people, she gives a damn.

Days before, social media was flooded with her pictures carrying a mashal march which explains the height of things and how much she cares for people.

Councillor Akhar Rasool Gilkar also reacted to this issue, saying that the demand of my people is very genuine.

He said it's very hard for old men and children to move during the evening hours as the town reels under darkness.

He also appealed to all the representatives of the town to come forward and work together for the betterment and welfare of Sopore.
