Youth jammu and Kashmir People’s conference President Mudasir Karim aghasts over the additive day to day crimes. Mudasir karim said that Drug trafficking poses a significant threat to global public health, security, and socioeconomic stability. To effectively combat this illicit activity, a comprehensive and multifaceted approach is required. This report outlines strategies and measures that can be implemented to control drug trafficking and mitigate its adverse effects. We have to neutralize drug trafficking and enhance penalties for offenders. Harmonization of laws and extradition treaties can facilitate the cooperation of law enforcement agencies across borders. Promoting the exchange of intelligence and information among countries can aid in identifying and disrupting drug trafficking networks. Collaborative efforts such as joint task forces and information-sharing platforms should be established.Encouraging coordination and cooperation among law enforcement agencies, customs authorities, intelligence agencies, and judicial bodies is crucial for effective drug control. Regular joint operations, intelligence fusion centers, and joint training programs can enhance interagency collaboration.Strengthened Border Security by Deployment of well-trained personnel, enhanced surveillance systems, and strategic border control operations can deter drug traffickers and facilitate the detection and seizure of illicit drugs. Cooperation with international organizations and neighboring countries is vital to secure porous borders. International collaboration to eradicate illicit drug crops, such as opium poppy, coca, and cannabis, can significantly impact the drug supply chain. Supporting alternative livelihood programs and providing incentives for farmers to switch to legal and sustainable crops can weaken the economic incentives for drug production.
Mudasir Karim further added that, Promoting social and economic development in drug-affected regions, providing vocational training, and creating employment opportunities can reduce drug demand by addressing underlying socioeconomic factors that contribute to drug abuse.
Controlling drug trafficking requires a comprehensive approach that combines international cooperation, strengthened border controls, disruption of the drug supply chain, and demand reduction efforts. Implementing these strategies, along with sustained political commitment, adequate resources.
