AIP Delegates Slam Govt Failures in Pulwama Meeting, Demand Er Rashid’s Immediate Release

"Awami Itehad Party Accuses Govt of Ignoring Public Woes, Calls for Justice and Accountability".
Pulwama, December 27: The Awami Itehad Party (AIP) held a pivotal delegates meeting in Pulwama, marking a significant step in its post-election mobilization. Chaired by Vice President G.N. Shaheen, the meeting saw the active participation of key party leaders, including District President Pulwama Altaf Ahmad Bhat, District Pulwama Coordinator Ajaz Ahmad Thakur, and DDC & District President Shopian Raja Waheed. The leaders commended the grassroots efforts to solidify the party’s organizational framework.

Central to the meeting was the collective demand for the immediate release of AIP Chairman and Baramulla MP Er Rashid, whose prolonged detention was described as a severe injustice to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Delegates underscored the need for his leadership during these challenging times, highlighting his absence as a major gap in addressing the region’s pressing concerns.

Delegates also criticized the government’s failure to address the ongoing electricity crisis, which has left residents grappling with harsh winters without adequate power supply. They accused the National Conference (NC) of making empty promises during elections, failing to deliver on their commitments, and ignoring the hardships faced by the populace.

The meeting also spotlighted the government’s silence on the release of political prisoners, with delegates condemning the lack of action as a betrayal of public trust. They called for immediate policy measures to ensure justice and uphold democratic values.

The gathering concluded with a strong resolution to amplify efforts to expose government failures, mobilize public support, and reinforce the AIP’s grassroots presence. Party leaders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to championing the rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
