AIP Central Council Meets in Srinagar: Bold Resolutions Chart Future Course

" AIP to Contest Assembly By-Elections, Demand Engineer Rashid’s Release, and Champion Restoration of J&K Statehood''.
Srinagar—The Central Executive Council of the Awami Itehad Party (AIP), presided over by Acting President Advocate G. N. Shaheen, convened a pivotal meeting in Srinagar. The session, attended by central office bearers and district leaders, addressed critical political issues, organizational strategies, and upcoming electoral plans.

Key resolutions included the decision to contest the Budgam and Nagrota Assembly by-elections slated for April 2025, while also planning district conventions in anticipation of ULB and municipal polls. The council reaffirmed its commitment to securing the release of incarcerated AIP Supremo Engineer Rashid and other political prisoners through legal, political, and diplomatic channels.

In a firm stance, AIP resolved to initiate a public movement advocating for the restoration of full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir and a reformation of the current reservation policy, criticizing it as irrational and unjust.

The council condemned the Omar Abdullah-led government, accusing it of failing on governance and neglecting essential public services like food, electricity, and LPG supplies. The cancellation of 1.27 lakh ration cards this week was met with sharp criticism, reflecting growing discontent among the public.

The meeting concluded with prayers for those who passed away this month and a renewed pledge of solidarity within the party.
