"With Er. Rashid Detained in Tihar, the People of Baramulla Demand Justice and Representation".
In a democracy, elections are the cornerstone of representation, ensuring that the voices of the people resonate in the corridors of power. The people of North Kashmir, particularly those in the Baramulla parliamentary constituency, voted for Er. Rashid with the hope that he would raise their issues in Parliament, fight for their rights, and improve their lives. However, this hope has been shattered with the detention of Er. Rashid in Tihar Jail. This raises a burning question: who now will represent the unheard voices of North Kashmir? Who will champion the struggles of its people in the absence of their elected leader? The detainment of an elected representative undermines the very essence of democracy and leaves the people feeling abandoned and silenced.Adding to the frustration is the silence of the National Conference-led government in Kashmir. Despite being a full-fledged ruling party, they have failed to address the detention of Er. Rashid or stand up for the people of Baramulla. Promises made during election campaigns have been forgotten, leaving the electorate disillusioned and betrayed. The people of North Kashmir are now appealing to the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and allow their representative to fulfill his duties. Without their chosen voice in Parliament, democracy feels hollow, and governance seems distant. Is this the democracy we strive for? Is this the representation the people deserve? It’s time for the government to answer these pressing questions and restore faith in the democratic process.
