Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Mohammad Imran Slams JKNC Deputy CM for Policy Flip-Flop

"Ancestral Values or Broken Promises? Sheikh Mohammad Imran Calls Out JKNC Deputy CM’s Governance Failures"

In a scathing tweet, Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Mohammad Imran took aim at the Deputy Chief Minister of the JKNC, accusing him of betraying the government's election promises. Imran wrote, “This govt isn’t about bijli, paani, sadak—people should live like our ancestors. Guess they’re taking it literally: no power, no water, no roads.”

Highlighting what he called a “classic flip-flop,” Imran criticized the administration for failing to deliver on basic infrastructure while resorting to rhetoric about ancestral values. “They’re out denying basic needs, backtracking from their manifesto promises, and lying to people—seems they’ve truly mastered the ancient art of lying,” he said, adding a sharp jab at the party's so-called “ancestral excellence and legacy.”

The tweet has sparked widespread debate online, with citizens voicing frustration over the lack of basic amenities. Critics say the government’s priorities appear misplaced, leaving residents to bear the brunt of failed governance.

For many, Imran’s words capture a growing sentiment: while the government preaches about heritage, the people suffer from a lack of progress in critical areas like power, water, and roads. The question remains—will the administration address these concerns, or will they continue to lean on nostalgic justifications?
