"EJCC Leader Mohammad Fareed Khan Slams Detention of Employees Voicing Legitimate Demands, Calls for Constructive Engagement"

The Employees Joint Coordination Committee (EJCC), under the leadership of Mohammad Fareed Khan, Tehsil President of Karnah, has strongly denounced the arrest and alleged harassment of employees who were peacefully protesting to highlight their long-pending demands. Organized under the banner of the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JKEJCC), the protest took place at Press Colony, Srinagar, and was led by Ajaz Ahmad Khan.

The demonstrators were advocating for their legitimate rights when authorities intervened, detaining several key leaders and participants for hours. The move has drawn widespread criticism from employee unions and rights groups alike.

Speaking on the issue, Mohammad Fareed Khan condemned the unwarranted suppression of employees’ voices. He emphasized that such actions only deepen mistrust and called on the government to engage in constructive dialogue instead of resorting to heavy-handed tactics.

"I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the employees of Karnah who participated in the peaceful protest and particularly to those who faced detention for standing up for what is right. Their courage and dedication exemplify the spirit of our movement," said Khan.

The EJCC leader reiterated the need for the government to address the genuine concerns of employees and create a platform for meaningful discussions to resolve long-standing issues. The arrests, he noted, set a dangerous precedent and undermine democratic principles.

This incident highlights the growing frustration among government employees in Jammu and Kashmir, who continue to face delays in the resolution of their legitimate demands. The EJCC’s call for dialogue now awaits a response from authorities as the region’s workforce stands in solidarity against suppression.
