Routine Naka Checking Leads to Major Breakthrough in North Kashmir’s Fight Against Narcotics

In a decisive step toward curbing the rising drug menace, the Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler during a routine naka checking at Madmadav crossing under Police Post Kalaroos in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The operation, carried out around 9:30 PM on Friday, led to the recovery of a significant amount of contraband, a police spokesperson said. An FIR (No. 10/2024) has been registered at Police Station Kupwara, and an investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and uncover any connections to a larger trafficking network.

Reaffirming its resolve to combat narcotics, Kupwara Police appealed to the public for support in identifying and reporting any suspicious activities, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in eradicating the drug scourge.
