MLA Langate Stages Bold Protest Outside DC Office, Kupwara Over Defunct Water Pumps

Kupwara witnessed a dramatic turn of events as MLA Langate, Khursheed Sheikh, accompanied by Kupwara Constituency Incharge Firdous Baba, staged a powerful protest against the Mechanical Engineering Wing (PHE). The protest unfolded outside the Deputy Commissioner's office, where Sheikh personally transported defunct water pumps and stabilizers in his vehicle and displayed them as a stark reminder of the district's failing infrastructure.

The symbolic act drew significant public attention, underlining the dire need for action to resolve the long-standing water supply issues in Kupwara. "These broken pumps represent the broken promises made to our people," Sheikh said during the protest, urging immediate intervention from the administration.

Responding to the protest, the District Administration assured Sheikh of all possible assistance and invited him for a discussion to expedite the resolution of the problem. The MLA agreed to the proposal, marking a potential turning point in addressing the crisis.
