Sadhna Accident Update: Two Sopore Residents Injured

 Two individuals sustained injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in met with a tragic accident in the Dana area near Sadhna Top, Kupwara district.

According to officials, the mishap occurred when a Tata Mobile vehicle (registration number JK05N 2838) skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge. The incident, which took place on the treacherous mountain roads, highlights the recurring dangers faced by travelers in the region.

The injured have been identified as Gul Bahar Lone, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, and Sakib Shabir Bhat, son of Shabir Ahmad, both residents of Sopore. Authorities confirmed that both victims were promptly rescued and rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tanghdar, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but poor road conditions and inclement weather are suspected to have played a role. Local authorities have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution while navigating through the area, especially during the winter season when roads are slippery and visibility is low.

This incident adds to the growing concerns about the safety of commuters on hilly roads in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting renewed calls for improved road infrastructure and emergency response mechanisms in the region.
