Karnah, – The Sheep Husbandry Department of Karnah organized a transformative “One-Day Awareness Program” for sheep breeders from the Tangdar and Teetwal blocks. Held under the ongoing Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), the event aimed to educate farmers on modern sheep farming techniques and the benefits of government schemes designed to bolster the sector.
The program was presided over by Sub-Divisional Magistrate-Karnah, Mr. Zaffar Ahmad Lone, alongside Sheep Development Officer-Karnah, Dr. Faisal Hassan Dedmari. In his address, SDM Lone emphasized the importance of adopting scientific practices in sheep farming and distributed complimentary veterinary medicines and seed kits to the participants. Recognizing excellence in the field, he also presented awards to the region’s top-performing sheep breeders, lauding their contributions to local agriculture.
Renowned experts Dr. Henan Mirchal and Dr. Mehraj ud Din Bhat, both Veterinary Assistant Surgeons from Tangdar and Teetwal respectively, shared actionable insights on scientific sheep breeding, disease management, and advanced husbandry practices. Their presentations aimed to equip breeders with the tools to improve productivity and sustain the health of their livestock.
Participants expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a valuable opportunity to enhance their knowledge and connect with resources provided by the government.
