Snowfall Halts Traffic: 1.5 Feet of Snow Accumulates on Karnah-Chowkibal Road

"Sadhna Top Blanketed in Snow; BRO Set to Begin Clearance Operations as Weather Improves".

Heavy snowfall has brought vehicular movement on the Karnah-Chowkibal road to a standstill, with 1.5 feet of snow accumulating around the Sadhna Top. This critical route, connecting the remote border region of Karnah with the rest of Jammu and Kashmir, has been rendered impassable due to the treacherous conditions.

Authorities have reported that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is on standby to commence snow clearance operations as soon as the weather improves. "We are closely monitoring the situation. Once the weather permits, the road will be cleared and reopened for traffic without delay," a BRO official stated.

This development is crucial for residents and travelers who rely on the Karnah-Chowkibal road for essential supplies and transportation. Locals are hopeful that road connectivity will be restored swiftly to avoid prolonged isolation of the region.

The administration has urged commuters to stay updated on road conditions and avoid unnecessary travel until the snow is cleared and the road is declared safe.
