"Dhaka Expresses Outrage Over Border Fencing and Fatal Incidents"
Dhaka—In a sharp escalation of tensions, the Government of Bangladesh summoned the Indian High Commissioner today to convey its "deep and grave concern" over the ongoing fencing of the India-Bangladesh border by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF). The Yunus administration accused the BSF of conducting extrajudicial encounters against Bangladeshi nationals allegedly attempting to cross the border into India.
The move comes amid growing resentment in Dhaka, with officials warning that such actions threaten bilateral relations. "These incidents are unacceptable and undermine the spirit of regional cooperation," a senior Bangladeshi official said.
India has yet to respond to the summons or address the allegations publicly.
