Two Drug Peddlers Caught Red-Handed in Qamarwari: Major Narcotics Seizure

In a significant breakthrough against the drug menace, police in Qamarwari today apprehended two suspected drug peddlers during a routine naka (checkpoint) at Barthana Qamarwari. The accused, identified as Anas Aijaz, son of Aijaz Ahmad Awan, hailing from Dildaar Tangdaar, and Zahid Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, from Chanipora Bala Tangdaar, were found in possession of approximately 6 kilograms of a brown sugar-like substance.

During the operation, law enforcement officials also seized a Tata Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK05D 1837, believed to have been used to transport the contraband.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 03/2025, U/S 8/21 of the NDPS Act, at Police Station Parimpora, and further investigations are underway. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug trade and have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.

This arrest marks a significant step in the fight against narcotics in the region, highlighting the vigilance and dedication of the Qamarwari police force.
