"Party Accuses NC of Betrayal, Vows to Continue Struggle for Justice and Carry Forward Rashid’s Mission"
The All J&K Awami Itehad Party (AIP) has launched a high-intensity campaign demanding the immediate release of its incarcerated leader, Member of Parliament Er Rashid, as his hunger strike enters its third consecutive day. The movement gained momentum in Sopore, where top AIP leaders, including MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed, Vice President Adv G N Shaheen, and other senior members, gathered to amplify their call for justice.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Vice President AIP Adv G N Shaheen emphasized the critical need for Er Rashid’s release, calling him the "voice of the unheard." He condemned the authorities for what he termed as a deliberate attempt to silence a leader who has relentlessly championed public grievances. “Er Rashid is not just a political figure—he is the hope of the people, and his unjust detention is an assault on democracy,” Shaheen declared.
MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed took a sharp dig at the National Conference (NC), accusing it of betraying its own manifesto and neglecting the pressing issues faced by the people. “The NC has a history of deceit, and once again, it has abandoned the people to suffer in these freezing temperatures. Sopore is grappling with severe water shortages and unannounced power cuts, yet NC representatives remain missing in action,” Khursheed said, drawing applause from the crowd.
The campaign also saw participation from Parveez Ahmad Bhat, DDC Member Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, District President Abdul Qayoom, Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Syed Uzair, Block President Zaingeer Syed Ilyas, and organizer Tariq Wani.
Undeterred by Er Rashid’s incarceration, AIP leaders pledged to take his mission to every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that public grievances are heard and addressed. “Our fight does not end here. We will continue to stand with the people, expose political betrayals, and seek justice for the oppressed,” the party leaders declared.
As Er Rashid’s hunger strike enters a critical phase, his supporters are intensifying their calls for his release, setting the stage for what could become a major political storm in the region.
