Govt restructures J&K SC, ST, BC development body
New board to oversee welfare, financial support for these communities
The Jammu and Kashmir government has reconstituted the Board of Directors for the J&K Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation through a new government order.
According to a government order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the reconstituted board will be chaired by the Minister for Social Welfare Department and will include administrative secretaries from the Finance, Social Welfare, Planning Development & Monitoring, Tribal Affairs, and Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Departments as directors.
Representatives from various central ministries and national finance and development corporations will serve as nominee directors.
The Managing Director of the Corporation will act as a Director and Member Secretary. This order supersedes all previous orders on the subject—(KNO)
