J&K Govt Reconstitutes Board of Directors for Road Transport Corporation




Srinagar,Feb 12 (SNO):The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a fresh order reconstituting the Board of Directors for the J&K Road Transport Corporation. The order, issued by the General Administration Department, supersedes all previous orders on the subject.

According to the News Agency—Srinagar News Observer (SNO) According to Government Order No. 205-JK(GAD) of 2025, the Hon'ble Minister In-Charge of the Transport Department will serve as the Chairman of the Board, while the Administrative Secretary of the Finance Department has been appointed as the Vice Chairman. Several senior officials from key departments, including Housing & Urban Development, Public Works (R&B), and Transport, have been designated as Directors.

Notably, the Managing Director of the J&K Road Transport Corporation will serve as both Director and Member Secretary of the Board. The Chief Engineer of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Kashmir, and a representative from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, have also been included in the reconstituted Board.

The order, signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government M. Raju IAS, emphasizes the importance of the Board in overseeing the transport corporation's operations and ensuring efficient public transport services in the Union Territory.

This move is expected to strengthen the administration of the J&K Road Transport Corporation and improve its service delivery across the region.—(SNO)
