Kashmir Police Rescue Two Missing Girls After Three-Month Search

"Families Express Relief, Authorities Urge Cyber Vigilance"

Srinagar, Feb 3: In a major breakthrough, police have successfully traced two missing girls from South Kashmir, who had been unaccounted for over the past three months. The duo was found in the Nowgam area of Srinagar, bringing an end to an extensive search operation that spanned multiple districts and states.

The girls, one of whom is a minor, hail from Kellar in Shopian and Babhara in Pulwama. Sources indicate that they had reportedly come into contact with non-locals through social media before their disappearance. Their families, distraught and desperate, had scoured Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri in search of them before the police intensified efforts by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Investigations suggest that during their absence, the girls traveled as far as Surat in Gujarat before returning to the Valley. Their safe recovery has brought immense relief to their families, who expressed deep gratitude to the police for their relentless efforts.

"We are thankful to the Kellar and Pulwama police who left no stone unturned in tracing our daughters. We request all parents to monitor their children's online activities and interactions with strangers," said the father of one of the girls.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of cyber awareness and parental supervision to prevent such incidents in the future. Meanwhile, further investigations are underway to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the case.
