Major Political Shake-Up in Sopore: Advocate Mursaleen Quits AIP

"I Part Ways, But Not With My People," Says Mursaleen in Emotional Exit
Sopore, Feb 5: In a surprising political development, Advocate Mursaleen, who contested the Assembly elections from Sopore on an AIP (Awami Itihad Party) ticket and secured 6,700 votes, has announced her disassociation from the party.

In a deeply emotional statement, Mursaleen clarified that her decision does not stem from any grievances against AIP chief Er. Rashid, for whom she expressed unwavering respect and hope for freedom. However, she firmly stated that she is stepping away from the party in every aspect.

“Without pinching the interest of many, I hereby declare my disassociation from AIP. I have not decided on my next course of action but will soon update my well-wishers,” Mursaleen said.

Reassuring her supporters, she vowed to remain connected to the people of Sopore, asserting that she would stand by them "till her last breath." She described her departure from AIP as a painful experience, likening it to the grief of bidding farewell to her father.

Mursaleen’s exit raises significant political questions, fueling speculation about her future course. Will she chart an independent path, align with another political front, or take a break from electoral politics? The coming days may hold the answer.
