Calls for Urgent Awareness Programme to Provide Job Opportunities for Local Youth
Karnah,21-Feb,(TKG):In a significant move to tackle rising unemployment in Karnah, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Javaid Ahmad Mirchal has formally requested the Assistant Commissioner Labour (ALC) Kupwara to organize an Awareness Programme aimed at providing employment opportunities to the local population.
In his letter dated February 20, 2025, MLA Mirchal highlighted the alarming unemployment crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Karnah. Acknowledging the vital role of the labour department in facilitating job opportunities, he urged authorities to take immediate action to help struggling youth and families secure sustainable livelihoods.
"As you are aware of the present scenario of the unemployment crisis everywhere in J&K and the same we are facing here in Karnah. It is to mention that your department plays a vital role in providing various platforms for employment and other related sectors," Mirchal stated in his letter.
He further emphasized the need for an immediate Awareness Programme in the Karnah Assembly segment, ensuring people can access crucial job-related information and opportunities.
The demand comes at a time when youth in border areas like Karnah are grappling with limited career prospects due to geographic and economic challenges. If implemented, such initiatives could pave the way for better employment prospects and economic upliftment in the region.
The ball is now in the administration’s court to take swift action in response to this appeal.
