MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed Visits Fire-Hit Family in Puthwari Nowgam, Assures Immediate Relief

Handwara, Feb 21(TKG): A massive fire engulfed a wooden residential house in Puthwari Nowgam, Qalamabad, on Wednesday afternoon, reducing it to ashes and leaving the family devastated. The house, belonging to Arif Ahmad Khan, son of Saifullah Khan, was completely destroyed, with all belongings inside—including clothing and food grains—lost in the blaze.

Upon learning about the tragedy, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed rushed to the site to assess the damage and express solidarity with the affected family. He assured them of immediate relief and pledged to take up the matter with the administration for prompt financial assistance and rehabilitation.


While Speaking to The Kashmir Graph,Sheikh Khursheed said that "This is a heartbreaking incident, and my thoughts are with Arif Ahmad Khan and his family, who have lost everything in this unfortunate fire. I assure them that I will personally ensure they receive the necessary aid and rehabilitation. No family should suffer alone in such difficult times. The government and the community must come together to support those in distress."

Sheikh Khursheed urged the administration to expedite compensation for the family and called for enhanced fire safety measures in vulnerable areas. Local residents and social organizations have also stepped in, providing food, clothing, and other essential supplies to help the family cope with the immediate crisis.
