"Healthcare, Banking, Fire Safety & Infrastructure,A Call for Development: "Enough is Enough," Says Raja Waqar"
Tangdhar, Karnah: In a powerful statement, Raja Waqar, General Secretary of Civil Society Karnah & the Chairman of All J&K Pahari Youth Wing, has urged the administration to take immediate action on critical infrastructure issues plaguing the region. From inadequate healthcare to the absence of banking facilities, poor fire safety mechanisms, and neglected education infrastructure, he has demanded that authorities prioritize these concerns before it's too late.
Healthcare: From CHC to SDH – A Long Overdue Upgrade
Raja Waqar emphasized the dire need for upgrading the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Tangdhar to a Sub-District Hospital (SDH) to provide better medical facilities to the people of Karnah. He also called for the immediate operationalization of two already constructed X-ray units in Gabra and Teetwal, which remain non-functional despite being completed. "Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. Why are basic facilities still a distant dream?" he questioned.
Banking Crisis: The ATM Drought in Karnah
Highlighting the banking crisis in the region, he pointed out that people have to travel long distances just to access ATM services, which is an essential requirement in today’s world. "Banking and money access is not a luxury; it’s a basic need. The administration must install ATMs in key areas like Baghbella, Taad, Teetwal, and Gundi to ease the struggles of the people," he demanded.
Fire & Emergency: A System That Fails in Crisis
Speaking on fire safety, Raja Waqar recalled the tragic incident at Ibkote, where a fire tender arrived without water, rendering it useless. "Karnah faces fire incidents frequently, but our response system is a disaster. We need mini fire and emergency service stations at Taad, Teetwal, and other vulnerable areas to prevent future losses," he urged.
Education: Neglected Schools, Broken Promises
Education remains another critical issue in Karnah, with government school buildings in a pathetic state. Schools like Chard Mohalla, Mandayaan Gabra, and BMS Kandi require urgent repairs to ensure a safe learning environment. "How can we expect our children to excel when their schools are crumbling?" he asked.
Environmental Neglect: Nallah Batamaji - A Health Hazard
Calling out the authorities for ignoring environmental issues, Raja Waqar demanded the immediate cleaning of Nallah Batamaji, which is heavily polluted due to sewage pipes and irresponsible waste disposal. "The administration must act now, impose fines on those polluting our water resources, and deploy teams to clean this vital water body," he asserted.
Representatives Missing in Action: "Where Are Our Leaders?"
In a scathing remark on elected representatives, Raja Waqar accused them of failing their people. "We elected them to fight for our rights, but where are they? They are missing in action, and it's time they are held accountable for their failure to address our concerns," he said.
Sports & Youth: No Playgrounds, No Future
Discussing the issue of drug addiction, he pointed out that sports could be a powerful tool to combat this crisis. However, lack of playgrounds forces young people to stay idle. "How can kids from remote villages like Budwan travel to Chamkote or Teetwal just to access a playground? We need sports infrastructure in every region to provide youth with a constructive alternative," he demanded.
Raja Waqar’s strong appeal reflects the growing frustration among Karnah's people. "Enough of promises. We need action. The administration must wake up before it’s too late!"
Will the authorities finally listen, or will Karnah continue to suffer in silence?
