Talib Hussain Slams JKNC, Questions Mian Altaf’s Silence on Kathua Youth Killing

Accuses NC MP of Ignoring Justice for Gujjar Victim, Praises Er. Rashid for Speaking Up
Prominent Gujjar activist and politician Talib Hussain has strongly criticized the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) and its MP Mian Altaf for their silence over the brutal killing of Makhan Din, a young man from the Gujjar community in Kathua. Hussain questioned why Mian Altaf, despite being a representative of the community, has not spoken out or demanded justice for the slain youth.

In contrast, he lauded Baramulla MP Er. Rashid for raising his voice over the issue, even though the victim did not belong to his community. Hussain accused JKNC of selective activism, asserting that the party and its leaders have failed to stand up for the marginalized when it matters the most.

“The Gujjar community has always supported these leaders, yet when one of our own is brutally murdered, their silence is deafening,” Hussain remarked. He further called on JKNC to clarify its stance and urged the administration to ensure justice for Makhan Din.

Social activists and civil society members are  demanding an impartial probe. However, the silence from major political figures like Mian Altaf has raised concerns about political favoritism and neglect of community issues.
