Srinagar, March 5 : The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has strongly criticized the administration for its failure to airlift two dead bodies from Karnah, which have remained stranded in Srinagar and Handwara for the last two days due to the closure of the Karnah-Kupwara road.
AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi lambasted the government’s inaction, reminding that despite an assurance from CM Omar Abdullah on the floor of the House, no concrete steps have been taken to facilitate the airlifting of the deceased for their last rites.
"May we ask—what happened to the tall claims of keeping chopper services available for this Karnah area? Winter is almost over, yet essential connectivity remains a distant dream!" Inam Un Nabi questioned in a statement, reiterating the pain of the affected families.
AIP has urged CM Omar Abdullah, Nasir Sogami and DC Kupwara to act immediately and ensure airlifting of the dead bodies without further delay.
The party has further warned that if immediate action is not taken, AIP will stage a protest inside the Assembly tomorrow, holding the government accountable for its negligence.
