Electricity & Road Connectivity Being Restored Amid Heavy Snowfall
Karnah, March 6 (TKG)– In a decisive move to counter the disruptions caused by recent heavy snowfall, the Indian Army, led by Col Sudeep Bose, Deputy Commander of 104 Shakti Vijay Brigade, facilitated the movement of Power Development Department (PDD) employees to Nasta Chhun Pass (NC Pass) to initiate power restoration efforts in the region. This collaborative effort between the Army and civil administration aims to alleviate the hardships faced by the local population.
Simultaneously, Col Sudeep Bose inspected NH-701, overseeing the ongoing snow clearance operations from Karnah to Chowkibal. The heavy snowfall, particularly at Sadhna Top, had severely impacted both road connectivity and power supply, prompting immediate intervention from authorities.
Speaking to the media, Col Bose assured that restoration efforts are being closely monitored and emphasized the Army’s unwavering commitment to assisting civilians during extreme weather conditions.
> “We are working in close coordination with the civil administration. Beacon teams are on the ground clearing snow, and efforts are in full swing to restore normal traffic movement. The situation is being continuously monitored,” he stated.
The region, especially Sadhna Top, has witnessed frequent snow slides, further complicating restoration efforts. Despite this, Beacon and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) teams are working tirelessly to keep the route accessible.
Local residents have expressed gratitude for the swift and coordinated response by the Army and civil administration. With continuous monitoring and relentless efforts, authorities expect full restoration of electricity and traffic movement soon, bringing much-needed relief to the people of Karnah and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, commuters have been urged to remain cautious and follow official advisories.
