Heavy Snowfall Halts Traffic on Karnah-Chowkibal NH-701, Sadhna Pass Closed Indefinitely

Continuous Rain and Snow Accumulation Disrupt Movement; Authorities Urge Caution

Karnah, March 15(TKG): Heavy snowfall and continuous rain have led to the accumulation of 5-6 inches of snow on the Karnah-Chowkibal National Highway (NH-701), prompting authorities to halt vehicular movement towards Sadhna Pass from both directions until further notice.

According to officials, the persistent snowfall has created hazardous driving conditions, raising concerns about potential road blockages and avalanches. As a result, the administration has taken preventive measures to ensure the safety of commuters.

"Considering the current weather conditions and road safety, traffic movement on NH-701 towards Sadhna Pass has been stopped temporarily. Travelers are advised to avoid unnecessary movement and stay updated on official announcements," said an official from the SDM office in Karnah.

The administration has urged residents and commuters to stay connected for further updates. For any emergency assistance, people can contact the Control Room of the SDM Office Karnah at 9596600833.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and road clearance operations will commence as soon as weather conditions permit. Meanwhile, people are advised to exercise caution and avoid traveling in the affected areas.

Stay tuned for further updates on road clearance and weather conditions.
