Karnah Administration Airlifts Critical Patients to Kupwara, Local Community Hails Swift Action

Efforts of DC Kupwara, SDM Karnah, and Tehsildar Karnah Ensure Timely Medical Evacuation

Karnah, March 2, 2025 (TKG)In a commendable display of prompt administration and humanitarian effort, the Karnah administration successfully airlifted critically ill patients to Kupwara, ensuring they receive urgent medical care. The initiative, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, and Tehsildar Karnah, has been widely appreciated by locals, who have praised the swift and coordinated response.

Among the patients airlifted were Rohail Mir, a 15-year-old from Kharwapra, and 18-month-old Bibi Sana from Kona Gabra, both of whom required immediate medical intervention. The air travel fitness certificates for these patients were issued by the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tangdhar, confirming their need for urgent evacuation.

Given Karnah’s geographical isolation and the frequent disruption of road connectivity due to harsh weather conditions, air evacuations remain a crucial lifeline for critically ill patients. The local community has expressed gratitude to the district administration for their proactive approach, emphasizing the importance of such timely interventions in saving lives.

This successful operation highlights the administration's commitment to public welfare and healthcare accessibility in remote regions. Locals have called for sustained efforts to enhance medical facilities in Karnah, reducing dependency on emergency evacuations and ensuring better healthcare infrastructure within the region.

For now, the swift response of the administration has once again reinforced the faith of Karnah residents in their local governance, proving that timely intervention can make all the difference between life and death.
