Karnah residents fear displacement, urge authorities to address long-standing demands for Kadhama and Phagwan roads
Karnah,15March(TKG): In a powerful appeal to the authorities, MLA Karnah Javid Ahmad Mirchal has raised serious concerns over the widening of National Highway 701, which poses a grave threat to the people of the region. He has strongly advocated for the long-pending demand of constructing the Sadhana Tunnel, a crucial lifeline for the people of Karnah, ensuring all-weather connectivity and relief from the hardships they face during winters.
Addressing the issue, Mirchal emphasized the adverse impact of NH-701 widening, which could lead to displacement and loss of homes for many residents. He warned that while infrastructural development is necessary, it should not come at the cost of people's livelihoods and security. "The people of Karnah have already suffered enough due to poor connectivity and frequent road closures. Instead of pushing them into further crisis, the government should prioritize the Sadhana Tunnel," he asserted.
In addition to the tunnel demand, the MLA also highlighted the neglect of Kadhama and Phagwan villages, where roads remain in a dilapidated condition despite repeated pleas from locals. "These villages have been waiting for proper roads for years, but their voices continue to be ignored. The administration must act now," Mirchal demanded.
With the looming threat of displacement and deteriorating road conditions, the demand for the Sadhana Tunnel and proper road infrastructure has become more urgent than ever.
