    J&K DDC polls: In 7th phase, 47.43% voter turnout recorded till 1 pm

    The overall voting percentage in Jammu and Kashmir divisions stood at 59.90% and 32.41% respectively till 1:00 pm.

    Polling for the seventh phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir began on Wednesday. According to the figures provided by the office of State Election Commissioner, a voter turnout of 47.43% was registered till 1:00 pm across different constituencies spread over districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Polling for 31 DDC seats — 13 in Kashmir division and 18 in Jammu division — began at 7 am. In Kashmir division, Pulwama recorded a voting percentage of 9.37%, Baramulla 49.50%, Kulgam 14.32%, Shopian 5.20%, Anantnag 18.81%, Bandipora 58.78%, Ganderbal 41.60%, Kupwara 42.19% and Budgam 39.48% till 01:00 pm.
